Traveling in Italy is like taking a long stroll through the most vivid dream you can imagine. The aroma of fresh basil, homemade pasta and amazing wines follow you every step of the way. The people and culture of Italy live deep in their history and want to share their love of their country with everyone. Be prepared to witness their arts, history and amazing country side with open eyes and amazement.
Day 1: Arrive in Rome and Transfer from airport to our hotel in the heart of Rome. In the evening we will have our welcome Dinner.
Day 2: After breakfast and morning meeting, we will have a 1/2-day tour walking Rome including; the Spanish Steps, The Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon and Navona Square. Afternoon to explore on your own.
Day 3: After breakfast and our morning meeting, we will meet our private guide and driver for a classic tour to the archaeological center of Imperial Rome including: Flavian Amphitheatre, The Roman Forum, Quirinale and Capitolium hills, several temples, triumphal Arches, Ancient Basilicas and more. In the evening we will go as a group for an after hours private tour of the Vatican.
Day 4: After breakfast, we will be picked up by a private vehicle and transferred to the train station. We will then take a scenic train ride from the Italian capital, Rome, to the Tuscan city of Florence. Admire the Cyprus-lined village streets and picturesque vineyards on the hills for approx. 1.5 hours. Check into the hotel and have lunch on your own.
In the afternoon we will be picked up and transferred to our hotel by private driver. There we will meet with our English-speaking guide to embark on a ½ day walking tour to view the top sights in Florence including: Ponte Vecchio, Cathedral square with Brunelleschi’s imposing dome, the Accademia Gallery to view Michelangelo’s David.
Day 5: After breakfast and our morning meeting, enjoy a full free day at your leisure. Choose from any number of options including but not limited to: private guided activities/tour of the artisanal side of the city to visit artists’ workshops or the finer side of Italian cooking, walking, biking or car tours of the city. Day 6: After breakfast and our morning meeting, we will be picked up at the hotel for a full day tour. We will cross the province of Umbria to reach Assisi (approx. 2 hours). We will take a guided stroll through the lanes of this historic town to see: The Church of St. Claire, Piazza del Comune, the Palazzo del Popolo and the Temple of Minerva.
Day 7: After breakfast and our morning meeting we will be picked up by our drivers and guides for a private tour, off the beaten path to the Tuscan countryside of Siena to visit the town of San Gimignano. Along the way, we will have lunch together in a Tuscany farm house. After a day in the country we will return to Florence.
Day 8: After breakfast, we will be picked up by a private vehicle and transferred to the train station. We will then take a 1.5 hour scenic train ride from the Florence, Italy to the Renaissance-era Walled City, Lucca, Italy.Upon arrival, we will check in to our hotel and you will have the opportunity to have lunch on your own. We will depart for a ½ day walking tour of Lucca where we will visit the Piazza dell’ Anfiteatro, the Guingi Tower, Giacomo Puccini’s House, Church of San Michelse, Lucca Cathedral and Santi Giovanni e Reparata. Day 9: This is a free day to explore the cobbled streets, handsome piazzas and shady promenades of Lucca. Lucca is a living testimony to past times, kingdoms of dominions and lies in a green valley. There will be an opportunity to rent bikes and explore the perfectly intact, 17th century walls that once protected the city. Here you will find amazing restaurants, beautiful views and wonderful shopping. In the evening we will have our farewell dinner.
Day 10: After breakfast, we will depart for the Florence via coach bus to the Florence Airport.
