Traveling to Bali with Spirit Tours turned out to be a life-changing spiritual journey, and big fun too! In addition to taking us to key Sacred Temples, Rev. Karen Fry taught us how to participate in their sacred ceremonies. This gave us insider passage to the innermost spaces of the temples

We stayed in incredible places, met local Balinese people, went snorkeling, shopping, ate great food, and we even took a cooking class! I highly recommend Spirit Tours and know you’ll enjoy it, too. I loved it so much, I’m planning to join Spirit Tours’ trips to Damanhur, Italy, and Egypt in 2025!

I learned first hand why Uganda is known as the Pearl of Africa. The people, wildlife and landscapes are absolutely wonderful! Spirit Tours planned every aspect of the trip so thoughtfully and beautifully. Overall the guides/drivers were so knowledgeable, compassionate and they really took care of us – on the roads, and assisting with our luggage. In fact, I had mobility challenges, and they ensured I was escorted when needed to reach the lodge or certain locations in safety and comfort. Every lodge was well appointed, the rooms were spacious and lovely, and they served fabulous meals. The staff members at each place were friendly, helpful and caring.

I loved the variety of experiences we had. We went on safari drives in Murchison Falls National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park and cruised the Nile River and Kazinga Channel in boats, where we saw lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and many types of antelopes and birds. We did a walking tour in a Rhino sanctuary, and trekked the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to spend an hour with an amazing gorilla family. The second in command silverback actually brushed my leg with his body as he walked by me. It was thrilling to be up close with the large families of both species, including several babies!

We had a few cultural experiences with locals which included singing, dancing, weaving and stories. And the trip culminated in a celebration at the Murushasha Community School. The pride of the students, teachers, and community leaders was phenomenal to behold. The trip was unforgettable and life changing!

Marion and I are still feeling the impact of our trip to Bali with Karen and Spirit Tours. We can summarize the trip in two words: priceless and affordable. It was a sacred journey, filled with fun and enjoyment. There were landmarks to explore, reflecting the spiritual history of Bali and temples uniquely built, creating sacred spaces with gorgeous flowers blooming everywhere.

I must admit that, at first, I was a tag along. My wife, Marion, signed up almost immediately when the trip was announced. But something kept pulling at me and ultimately, I decided to go. It was one of those decisions I will never regret. The hospitality and friendliness of the native people, their spirituality 24/7 was infectious, the scenery, temples, and accommodations were all amazing. We loved the Egypt trip with Spirit Tours. When you travel with Spirit Tours, you get the full experience of the destination, and you get a spiritual connection with friends that travel with you. Most of our longest and closest relationships are with friends we met on travel journeys (Costa Rica, Bhutan, Bali, and Egypt).

The Egypt experience was fantastic. We stayed at the best location in Cairo, directly next to the pyramids. When you looked out of your room, there they were. It was a great start, with private visits to both the pyramids and the Cairo Museum. Then we went onward to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. A highlight of the trip was the Nile cruise and being together on our private boat.

Japan has been on my bucket list for a long time. Having traveled with Spirit Tours many times, I knew I was going when they added this destination. They ensured we experienced Japan and its people, along with its beauty, serenity, and sacredness – from beautiful mountain retreats with Shinto and Zen Buddhism chanting and meditations, to sacred rock and water gardens; from tranquil walks through historic shrines, palaces, and temples to the cleanliness of the cities; from the artistry of the foods to beautiful walks and bicycle rides – stunning!
