This tour is an invitation to join Jim for a special reunion tour, along with Rev Karen Fry, to the magical island of Bali. Even if you haven’t experience Bali before, this is the perfect opportunity to savor the Balinese way of life while immersing yourself in Balinese spirituality.
Bali is commonly known as the Island of the Gods because of the devout spiritual practices of the Balinese people. On this sacred journey, you’ll visit Sanur Beach, Candi Dasa Beach, and Ubud, Bali’s cultural center. Experience a wonderful Ramayana Kecak performance on Candi Dasa’s gorgeous oceanfront. Enjoy a beautiful rice-field sunrise walk, and snorkeling at the blue lagoon. Participate in a special Balinese ceremony every morning, before chanting the Gyatri Manra with complementary Bali Mala Beads.

Upon Arrival we will travel to Eastern Bali to Candidasa, a secluded and peaceful seaside area. Our home in Candi Dasa will be a beautiful beachfront hotel, called the Rama Ocean View. All rooms are decorated with Balinese harmony in mind. This will be our home base for our Bali retreat for the next 5 days. The afternoon is free to rest from the flight or to take a dip in the beautiful pool overlooking the ocean. The evening will be for you to dine on your own and relax from the long flight to Bali
Every morning before starting our spiritual practice with we have a small ceremony where we smug ourselves with incense, bless ourselves with water and receive a flower. Thus the Hindu Trinity Brahma the Creator or Represented by fire, Vishnu the Preserver represented by water and Shiva (Siwa) the renewer represented by flower. On Bali there are two ways to pray: ‘mbakti’ and ‘muspa’. The first is worship through devotion, the second shows respect with flowers (Gitana will explain this ancient ritual to the group). The day is spent slowing down to the pace of Balinese life, where every moment is a gift of harmony and balance. On this day we will appreciate the simple way of Balinese life Today is our day of peace and rejuvenation. After morning meditation and chanting, and breakfast we will enjoy complimentary welcome massages. Today we have time to unwind from the long flight, relax and soak-in Bali. We will have a blessing at the hotel temple and in the evening, . We will have a group dinner tonight at the hotel ocean front restaurant.
Following morning chanting and meditation and breakfast we will travel back along the coast to visit the Pura Goa Lawa and receive an in-depth offering from a Balinese priest. Pura Goa Lawa is one of Bali’s holiest temples. It is this temple where the Balinese pray and say goodbye to loved ones they have lost. This will be our opportunity to pray and reflect on those we may have lost from the pandemic and say goodbye to those whom we may know that may have passed or to any unwanted fears or sadness. It will also be the opportunity to say goodbye to any darkness you wish to leave behind in Bali. After lunch We will learn how to create flower offerings and flower mandalas. Dinner on our own at the Hotel or a nearby recommended restaurant.
Early morning chanting and meditation, and breakfast. We will offer an optional snorkel trip to nearby Blue Lagoon with its excellent corals, sitting on bright white sand and the clear waters, sandy bottom and bright light make this a very popular site for taking underwater photos. Upon returning to the hotel, you will have time to visit the spa, Zen garden or pool. Dinner is a Balinese feast followed by a Kecak dance performance by local villagers.
Early morning chanting and meditation, and breakfast . After our morning we will then have lunch together and visit the water palace of Tirtaangga, which literally means water from the Ganges and it is a site of some reverence for the Hindu Balinese. Tirtagana is a perfect place to celebrate the solstice as you immerse your self in the clear waters and renew your body and soul. The healing water flows from an underground spring beneath a giant Banyan Tree and is considered holy. The Balinese use the water for temple ceremonies. The center piece of the palace is an eleven tiered fountain and there are many beautiful carvings and statues adorning the gardens and also a stone labirnith to walk over The upper pool is for bathing so bring your swim suit. Evening dinner will be at a local jazz club/restaurant.
After our morning chanting, meditation & breakfast we will head to the village of Ubud, the artistic and cultural center of Bali, where we will spend 3 days and two nights.
In Ubud we will stay at the Komaneka Rasa Sayang Resort hotel located just off of Monkey Forest Road, in the center of Ubud’s bustling activity. Ubud is the home to Bali’s famous art museums and is a shopper’s paradise. The Ubud market has an exotic and vast array of locally produced handicrafts. You will have the afternoon to explore Ubud on your own .We will have dinner together at the nearby Café Wayan.
We will offer an optional sunrise guided walk through the rice fields. After our morning of chanting, meditation, and breakfast you will have time to enjoy Ubud. We will make appointments for those who wish at Ubud’s old style family run Nur Salon with its Mandi Lulur or flower bath massage treatment, one of the most popular optional experiences on our tours. Later in the afternoon we will visit Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple, It is one of the least visited temple complexes on the island of Bali, yet is one of the most beautiful and tranquil. It features verdant gardens around ponds filled with carp and blooming lotuses, and ancient shrines surrounded by crystal clear pools fed by natural springs. The temple is dedicated to the God Vishnu (water) where we will have the opportunity to take home holy water from Bali. Returning to Ubud,
This morning begins with early chanting and meditation.,. We will have time to do last minute shopping before we transfer to the Puri Santrian hotel in Sanur Beach. This beach front hotel is a short ride from Bali’s international airport. Puri Santrian is a modern Balinese resort strategically positioned on the beach at the tranquil southern end of Sanur. We will have the first afternoon and evening in Sanur to relax at the pool or go for an evening swim in the Indian Ocean
Early morning chanting and meditation, and breakfast .We will take a pilgrimage to the west coast of Bali, to visit the famous seaside temple, Tanah Lot. This temple was founded by a Brahman priest from Java, named Nirartha. He was believed to have been seen meditating on this rock In the 16th Century. The local villagers saw a light shining down where he was meditating and built a temple there in his honor. The temple sits on a large offshore rock, which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide. At the base of the rock is a holy freshwater spring where we will receive blessings before our prayer service with exclusive access inside the holy temple.
Early morning chanting and meditation, and breakfast . After our morning we will Today is our final full day in Bali. We will start the day with our morning practice with Shoshana. The rest of the day is free to explore Sanur Beach, shop, go to the beach or spa that evening we will have our farewell dinner. We will gather after dinner for restorative yoga and reflections.
