Arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San Jose, Costa Rica by 2:30pm. We’ll leave to embark on our journey at 3:00pm and head to our first 5-star resort. Along our route, we’ll stop to enjoy some appetizers at a special Costa Rican restaurant where exotic birds are fed up close and a great waterfall view.
We arrive at the Lost Iguana Resort & Spa – located in a private refuge of tropical rainforest with 120 acres, its designed to give guests a private room surrounded by the beauty of a rainforest and a breathtaking view of the Arenal Volcano. On the grounds, enjoy hundreds of species of flowering plants, ferns, palms, and numerous unusual birds and animals. The Lost Iguana Resort is a boutique resort with 42 uniquely appointed rooms on 120 acres in a primary rainforest. Every room has perfect views of the volcano. During your stay, enjoy trails through the rainforest, swim-up the bar & enjoy delicious food in open-air restaurant.
Plus, there’s a spectacular, secluded spa where you’ll completely relax during a massage to the peaceful sound of a river and birds in private thatched bungalows with a fireplace. The spa also includes a sauna and gymnasium. Club cars are available to transport you to any area on the property.
Enjoy waking to the sounds of the rainforest – local toucans and howler monkeys. Savor your coffee on your private balcony while viewing the majestic volcano.
Upon arrival, you’ll have time to get settled in, enjoy the view on your deck, and begin to appreciate this resort’s beautiful surroundings. Then, we’ll have a Welcome Dinner on the property together.

Our day begins with an early morning spiritual practice – taking a walk on the trails in the rainforest on the Lost Iguana property. We’re accompanied by an incredible local guide, Johnny Calderon, who lives the Pura Vida way. Johnny will spot and about the rich biodiversity we encounter on our walk. Also, amazing facts about the leaf cutter ant colony way of life.
Next, we go to Costa Rica’s most iconic and exquisite natural hot springs – Tabacon. Tabacon Hot Springs is Costa Rica´s largest network of naturally flowing thermal mineral springs in Arenal’s largest and most beautiful private, rainforest reserve. An essential part of exploring the wondrous world of the Tabacon Hot Springs is soaking in the cascading thermal waterfalls. You’ll thoroughly enjoy exploring the numerous river pools, with temperatures range from 72 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and with the perfect combination of high volume and mineral content. Bask, relax, and meditate in the acres of tropical gardens, great climate, and true, thermal waters, naturally heated by the volcano and slowly mineralized, underground. You’ll also enjoy lunch there as well.
This evening, you can choose to go on a special optional tour to explore the rich wildlife at night.

We begin early in morning, to beat the crowds, and visit the Arenal Hanging Bridges Park. This rainforest is located within the corridor of birds migrating between North and South America. The trails and bridges bring you as close as you could ever hope to get to birds, flowers, lush vegetation, and a waterfall of this primary rainforest. We’ll walk right into the rainforest with local guides leading us, thanks to the 6 imposing hanging bridges and the beautiful trails that are safe and easy to walk on. Our guides point out wildlife that would otherwise go undetected without their help. And get very close to a waterfall!
After breakfast and following our time together with our daily spiritual practice, we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant to enjoy delicious, Costa Rican cuisine. Then, we’ll take a beautiful short drive along the Arenal Volcano to the Sky-Tram Arenal. From the Sky Tram, enjoy a view of the rainforest, lake Arenal, and Arenal volcano. The Sky Tram is 5,196 feet long each way. Board one of the open gondolas that offer room for 6 people and fly quietly and slowly through the canopies of the rainforest near the Arenal Volcano. Observe life in the canopies from a different angle.

After breakfast, we get to enjoy a private tour with our guide at Ecocentro Danaus to enjoy many species of birds, butterflies, frogs, and sloths. Afterwards, we begin our journey to the coast for an entirely different experience at our next 5-star resort on the water. Enjoy lovely scenery on our winding, 3-hour luxury bus ride to the coast. Upon our arrival, we check-in to our gorgeous retreat resort, the El Mangroove Resort & Spa, that has the perfect blend of elegance and relaxation. This is a boutique, beachfront resort that overlooks the Gulf of Papagayo and draws inspiration from the region’s lush forests, sun-kissed beach landscapes, and vibrant culture.

After breakfast, we have spiritual practice next to the water. The entire day is free to enjoy the resort however you’d like – relax by the pools, get a massage, or utilize the resort’s kayaks/snorkeling equipment/bicycles (included). You can also arrange, for an additional fee, to be taken out in their onsite boats and go beach hopping.

After breakfast, we have spiritual practice next to the water. Then you have another day free to continue to enjoy the resort however you’d like – relax by the pools, get a massage, or utilize the resort’s kayaks/snorkeling equipment/bicycles.
On this last night of our Pura Vida Tour we have our Farewell Dinner.

After breakfast, we have our closing circle and prepare for our transfer to Guanacaste Airport (Liberia International Airport – LIR) to return home.

There is a $800 nonrefundable deposit required to reserve your spot.
Additional $1,400 due by October 31, 2023
Full balance of total tour is due by November 30, 2023
If cancelled outside of 90 days of tour date – full refund minus $800 nonrefundable deposit
If cancelled between 89 and 61 days – 50% is refundable minus $800 nonrefundable deposit
If cancelled within 60 days – No Refund
